Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kualitas visual-spasial ruang pejalan kaki di Kawasan Kali Ngrowo, Kabupaten Tulungagung, berdasarkan preferensi masyarakat dan karakteristik fisik kawasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei lapangan dan pendekatan people preferences dengan skala Semantic Differential untuk mengukur persepsi publik terhadap enam stimulus foto koridor pejalan kaki. Responden terdiri atas masyarakat umum, akademisi, praktisi, dan pemerintah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen visual positif yang paling disukai adalah vegetasi rindang, keterbukaan pandangan ke sungai, aktivitas sosial, dan identitas kawasan melalui gerbang monumental. Namun, kualitas spasial masih menghadapi permasalahan seperti tidak adanya trotoar yang jelas, konflik antara pejalan kaki dan kendaraan, parkir liar, serta penataan pedagang kaki lima yang kurang teratur. Preferensi publik menekankan pentingnya peningkatan pencahayaan, penghijauan, kenyamanan, keamanan, dan pelestarian nilai historis. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penataan koridor pedestrian berbasis partisipasi masyarakat guna menciptakan ruang berjalan kaki yang lebih nyaman, aman, dan estetis.
